Attacks on Police Officers Continue, NY Suspect Released Without Bail

A Florida police officer was beaten unconscious and a suspect was shot during a struggle early yesterday in front of a Panera Bread in Atlantic Beach.
When the police arrived on scene, he got into an altercation with the suspect who allegedly stomped on his head.
The suspect reportedly told another responding officer, “You’re going to have to kill me.”

The officer shouted verbal commands and the suspect allegedly reached for his weapon at which time the officer opened fire and hit the suspect, who was reportedly still combative while on the ground.

The suspect and officer who initially responded to the scene were taken to hospitals and were both expected to live. The officer suffered injuries to his head and face.

The extent of the suspect’s injuries were not available.

Also, the Bronx man who allegedly punched NYPD Chief Terence Monahan and two other officers during protests on the Brooklyn Bridge Wednesday has been released from jail without bail. just let that sink in.
