Atlanta police identify Midtown shooter as the search for him continues

Atlanta, GA– Authorities in Atlanta are currently searching for a 24-year-old man they say opened fire inside of a building Wednesday afternoon, leaving one person dead and four others injured.
The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Peachtree NW.
The four of the victims were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where at least three of them are said to be in critical condition.
A fourth victim is being treated in the emergency department.
The Atlanta Police Department reported that they are searching for Deion Patterson, and that he is considered armed and dangerous.
While authorities have not said exactly where the shooting occurred, Northside Hospital posted a tweet saying that they are working with officials regarding the shooting in Midtown.

According to reports, the suspect is believed to have left the Midtown area and may have carjacked a vehicle near 14th and Williams Street.
Authorities are unsure of where the suspect is at this time but are actively searching for him.
A BOLO has been issued.
Police are asking the community to report any sightings of Patterson to them and to not approach him.
