MONTGOMERY CO., MD- A California man is under arrest after police found him carrying a gun, a knife, and burglary tools near the Maryland home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

26-year-old Nicholas John Roske of Simi Valley, California, was detained by police not far from Kavanaugh’s home just before 2:00 AM Wednesday.

Police say Roske arrived in the area by taxi and had apparently called 911 on himself.

Roske told responding officers that he wanted to kill the Associate Justice over the upcoming ruling on the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision which legalized abortion nationwide nearly five decades ago.

Security has been increased both at the Supreme Court building in Washington and at the homes of SCOTUS Justices following the leak of a draft opinion that appears to overturn Roe.

Local authorities and the U.S. Marshals Service is investigating, Roske is set to appear in a Maryland federal court on Wednesday.

This is a developing story.
