Amazon is the latest company to announce a raise in their membership fees.

The delivery giant made the announcement this month.

Members will now see the price of Prime go from $119 to $139 a year and from $12.99 to $14.99 per month.

A spokesperson for the company reported that the increase in price is due to “the continued expansion of Prime member benefits as well as the rise in wages and transportation costs.”

Those just signing up for the membership will see the price increase on February 18th, while existing members will see the increase after March 25th.

The last time Amazon customers saw a rate increase was in 2018. The company raised their monthly fee from  $10.99 to $12.99, while the yearly fee stayed the same.

Netflix and Starbucks are other brands who have increased their prices this year.
