Alleged face-eating attacker from 2016 appeared in court on Tuesday

Face Biting Attack
FILE – This Oct. 3, 2016, file photo, provided by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, shows Austin Harrouff. A judge will allow as evidence a video of Harrouff struggling against his restraints at a Florida hospital on the night he’s accused of killing two people. Harrouff’s attorneys say the video shows the “mental status” of the 22-year-old hours after he’s accused of killing 59-year-old John Stevens III and 53-year-old Michelle Mishcon. A new trial date has been set for late November for the 25-year-old Jupiter man accused of killing a Martin County couple in their garage and then biting the face of one of them.
Austin Harrouff was a 19-year-old Florida State student at the time of the attack in 2016 and has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Harrouff faces two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and one count of attempted first-degree murder.
The Martin County judge set the non-jury trial date for November 28th.
