An 11-year-old boy is currently healing from a knife wound after he was accidently stabbed by an actor inside of a haunted house.
The incident occurred at the popular 7 Floors of Hell attraction in Ohio.
According to the report, the actor identified as 22-year-old Christopher Pogozelski walked up to the child with a real bowie knife, and attempted to stab it into the ground next to the child’s foot but missed:
“He walked up to my son and he was holding the knife and his intentions were to scare him, but my son responded to him by saying, ‘That’s fake. I’m not scared,'” the mother of the stabbed boy, Karen Bednarski, said. “I’m highly upset.”
The blade of the knife was said to have gone through the child’s crocs and sliced his big toe.
President Rodney Geffert of Night Scream Entertainment told reporters that he believes the whole thing was an accident:
“I guess he got a little too close. It was a complete accident and poked the boy’s toe,” said Geffert.
Geffert also told reports that employees are not allowed to touch customers and are only allowed to use rubber prop knives provided by the company.
“The police took the knife and I made it real clear with him, you don’t go to your vehicle and get something out like that. We just don’t do that,” Geffert explained.
Pogozelski says he brought the knife from home and realizes now that it was not a good idea.
The child’s mother has since pressed charges on the 22-year-old.
“The biggest thing for me is, you know, I don’t understand the mental state of this man,” Bednarski said. “There’s got to be something wrong with him, and he should not be working at an establishment like that. That’s what makes me upset.”
