The Abbott Nutrition plant is reporting that they were forced to stop production at its plant in in Sturgis, Michigan due to severe weather. According to the statement, a storm that took place on Monday caused flooding in the area and also inside certain areas of the plant. Abbott says the FDA has been notified about the situation and they will not be able to restart production until the damage is assessed and the facility can be sanitized.
New production and distribution of its EleCare specialty baby formula will be delayed for another few weeks according to the report.
