BRADENTON, FL–
A 77-year-old woman was taken to a hospital after she was attacked by a 7-foot alligator while walking in the gated community where she lives.
The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. in the Lakewood Ranch community.
Someone witnessed the attack and kept tabs on the alligator until a trapper got to the area.
While there are other alligators in the pond, wildlife officials say they are certain they got the right one because none of the other alligators fit the size and description they were given.
As of Tuesday, the victim was said to still be recovering.
