7-year-old boy killed, mother injured in Riviera Beach double shooting

Riviera Beach Police are investigating a double shooting that took place early Wednesday morning leaving a 7-year-old boy dead, and his mother injured.

Major Josh Lewis with the Riviera Beach Police Department said officers arrived to the scene of the shooting along AC Evans Street just after midnight. When they arrived, they found the boy and his mother shot.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital, but the young boy was pronounced dead. The mother is currently in stable condition, according to officials.

The child’s mother has been identified as 28-year-old Addiscia Ball. The name of her son has not been released.
