(WASHINGTION COUNTY, IN) — Indiana State Police have identified the body of a 5-year-old boy who was found stuffed inside of a suitcase at a dead-end road in Washington County.
The child has been identified as Cairo Jordan of Atlanta.
Police say Jordan’s body was discovered in a Las Vegas-wrapped suitcase on April 16.
While the autopsy did not show any signs of physical trauma, police say the child died of a “viral gastroenteritis,” related to an “electrolyte imbalance,” due to neglect.
Investigators are now searching for Cairo’s mother, 37-year-old Dejaune Anderson for murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and obstruction of justice.
Anderson is known to travel frequently especially throughout the California area.
Another suspect, 40-year-old Dawn Coleman was arrested in San Francisco on Oct. 19. She was charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death and obstruction of justice, police said.
