(COLORADO SPRINGS, CO)– A lone shooter opened fire inside a gay nightclub on Saturday night, killing at least 5 people and injuring 18 others.

The shooter, identified as 22 year old Anderson Lee Aldrich, was subdued by other patrons of Club Q in Colorado Springs, Colorado until police arrived to secure the scene.

“Club Q is devastated by the senseless attack on our community,” the club said in a Facebook post. “We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.”

No motive for the shooting has yet been established and the FBI is assisting Colorado Springs police in the investigation.

Aldrich remains in police custody while being treated for wounds at an area hospital.

This is a developing story.
