Officials in Fort Lauderdale are reporting that they have rescued four boaters after they were tossed into the water when their vessel capsized on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. just three-quarters of a mile off of the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
Authorities say one of the boaters was able to keep their phone out of the water long enough to contact the police.
Two people were rescued by Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue, while the others were rescued by a Fort Lauderdale Police boat.
At least one person was taken to an area hospital for observation.
