
(MARTIN COUNTY, FL)– A major crash involving two vehicles took the lives of four people at the intersection of Federal Highway and NW Baker Road on Tuesday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol PIO Lt. Indiana Miranda said a black Tesla was travelling southbound on Federal when when it collided with a northbound Chrysler minivan making a left turn onto 14th St.
The Tesla overturned and caught fire while the minivan came to rest on the shoulder of the intersection.
The driver and passenger from the minivan were pounced dead at the scene along with the teenage driver of the Tesla.
The female passenger, who was in her late teens, died later at an area hospital.
Portions of Federal Highway and Baker Road are closed while FHP investigates.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
