(PALM BEACH COUNTY, Florida)– Four people nearly drowned Saturday morning but were saved by the United States Coast Guard.

A commercial tugboat sent out a distress signal at around 2:45 a.m. declaring they were taking on water, according to the Coast Guard.

The incident took place at 5000 Canal St N near Lake Okeechobee, where Palm Beach Fire and Rescue personnel were sent to assist the USCG in case anyone needed medical attention.

The Coast Guard successfully deployed their dewatering pumps on the tugboat and were able to save the crew.
