3 dead after shooting near Wendy’s drive-thru

Officials in Hallandale Beach are currently investigating a shooting that left three people dead.

The incident occurred around 12:48 a.m. near the Wendy’s drive-thru on east of Interstate 95.

“We responded to the area around 12:48 a.m. regarding an altercation with a shooting,” said Hallandale Beach Police Capt. Megan Jones. “At which time, officers responded and they were able to find three people that were unresponsive, now pronounced deceased.”

Details surrounding the shooting are unclear at this time and authorities reported that they have not made any arrest.

An employee who worked at the Wendy’s says they were scheduled to be at work at the time of the shooting but she left a little early:

“Thank God I wasn’t there when it happened, but I was scheduled to leave work now, 2 o’ clock in the morning,” she said. “I just left work early, right before it happened. I just decided to come back over here to get something, Taco Bell across the street, and then I seen all the tape and helicopters.”

The Wendy’s has been closed to since the shooting.
