A 20-year-old Florida woman is dead after she was struck by another vehicle while attempting to help a deer.

The incident was reported around 2:25 a.m. Saturday near the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Officials say the victim stopped her vehicle in the center lane of a three lane road and activated her hazard lights as she attempted to help the deer.

Another driver then drove passed her vehicle and struck the woman.

The driver of the other vehicle told police he could not see the woman.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
