Two middle school students have been arrested after they allegedly brought an unloaded handgun and a BB gun to a school in North Miami.

The Miami-Dade County Public Schools has reported that the students were at a park next to the school.

The firearms were found near the Benjamin Franklin K-8 Center on Monday morning.

The two students will be facing felony charges and face consequences from their school.

Their first court appearance was on Tuesday.
