(WELLINGTON, FLA) — Two Palm Beach Central High School students in Wellington, FL were reportedly killed in an “off-campus incident” on Wednesday.
The names and ages of the students were not revealed, however mental health counselors and additional law enforcement were dispatched to the school located at 8499 West Forest Hill Boulevard, according to Principle Darren Edgecomb.
“It is with profound sadness that I am sharing with you the tragic news that two of our students died yesterday during an off-campus incident,” said Edgecomb in a statement released on Thursday. “I have arranged for extra counselors to be available for any students or members of staff who will benefit from speaking with a behavioral health professional. There is also an increased police presence on our campus today to reassure our students that maintaining safety and security on our campus is always the District’s top priority.”
Authorities reportedly stated to the Palm Beach County School District that an ongoing investigation revealed the deaths were labeled as an ‘isolated incident.’
No details were revealed on how the students were killed.
