2 officers injured during road rage incident

Authorities in Miami-Dade are currently investigating a police involved shooting that left at least two officers injured.

The incident occurred in the area of 94th Avenue and 25th street around 11:00 a.m.

According to the report, a white Tundra pick-up truck was following a black BMW after a dispute between the drivers and at some point opened fire on the vehicle. The BMW then returned fire hitting the driver of the pick-up truck.

One of the drivers of then lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. When authorities arrived to the scene, they were then fired upon by the subject in the vehicle that struck the tree.

The officers then returned fire striking the suspect. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the Doral officers was shot in the chest, the leg and the arm, while another was grazed on the left cheek from either glass or shrapnel.

A civilian was also said to have been injured in the shooting.

Officials are currently investigating the shooting.
