MIAMI, FL– Two Delta flights were delayed after a slow-speed collision on Sunday.

The accident occurred at the Miami International airport.

Officials say Delta flight 1654 which was leaving the airport en route to Atlanta made contact with Delta flight 2911, which was headed to Boston.

Noone was injured on the flight, according to a Delta spokeswoman:

“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and delay in their travel plans following minor, low-speed contact of Delta flight 2911 with Delta flight 1654. All customers and crew members deplaned safely and normally. Maintenance teams are evaluating the condition of the aircraft and customers have been re-accommodated on new aircraft onto their destinations.”

The flights were delayed for about five hours but customers were eventually placed on a new aircraft and flown to their destinations.

Crews are now assessing the damage to both planes involved in the accident.
