Two people are dead and three others have been injured in a ‘drug-related’ shooting authorities in northwest Washington, D.C. are reporting.
The shooting occurred Wednesday around 12:50 p.m. EDT. at North Capitol Street.
Officials say the driver of dark colored SUV stopped just before O street and several people got out of the vehicle and started shooting at people sitting and standing on the block.
The suspects then got back into the vehicle and headed westbound on O Street.
The Metropolitan Police Department is calling it a ‘drug-related’ shooting because the area in which the shooting occurred is known as an open-air drug market.
Authorities are still searching for the suspects.
