2 arrested after plotting attack on center counting votes

Two people in Philadelphia have been arrested after authorities uncovered their plot to attack a center that was in the process of counting votes for the presidential election.

The arrest occurred on Thursday around 10:00pm.

Officials say they received information about a group of men who were driving from Virginia to launch an attack on the Philadelphia Convention Center.

With information from the tip, authorities say they encountered and then took into custody two heavily-armed men.

Officials say they also discovered multiple guns inside the pair’s silver Hummer.

The situation is still under investigation.
