An Indiana woman has been arrested for stabbing a University student for “being Chinese”

(BLOOMINGTON, Indiana)– A woman who repeatedly stabbed an 18-year-old Indiana University student because the victim is Asian has been arrested, according to the Bloomington Police Department.

Billie R. Davis, 56, told police that she used a folding knife to stab the 18-year-old victim in the head and targeted her for “being Chinese.”

The victim, who survived the incident, told investigators she was standing and waiting for the exit doors to open on a Bloomington Transit bus Wednesday afternoon when another passenger began striking her in the head.

Davis faces a charge of aggravated battery and battery by means of a deadly weapon alongside the count of attempted murder and is being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
