Single engine plane crashes in Belle Glade

(BELLE GLADE,Florida)– A single-engine plane took a nose dive into the ground Tuesday afternoon.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews were on the scene in the 1200 block of N. Main Street at about 2:40 p.m

As EMT crews arrived, they found an Ayres Thrush S2R-510 that had crashed in sugar cane fields approximately 2 miles southeast of the Belle Glade Airport.

The pilot was the only soul on the plane and was sent to the hospital without serious injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
