(BROWARD COUNTY, FLA) — A woman was arrested after allegedly forcing a 13-year-old girl to have sex with adult men after the two fled a Southwest Ranches foster home.
Hannah Rose Marie Ellsworth, 18, faces sex trafficking charges of a minor, four counts of lewd battery of a minor between the ages of 12 and 16, and promoting the sexual performance of a child, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
According to an arrest report, at 17-years-old, Ellsworth convinced the victim to run away with her from a foster home on Nov. 15, 2021, resorting to social media apps to make arrangements with adult men throughout the county, exchanging sex for money, food, and shelter.
Ellsworth pressured the victim to participate in an ‘orgy’ with herself and two adults, threatening that she would not get paid if she didn’t cooperate. The victim was reportedly assaulted by the two males and ran away, shortly after being found by deputies of the Plantation Police Department on Nov. 18, 2021.
Authorities found a cell phone belonging to Ellsworth that contained explicit videos of her sexually assaulting the victim. Detectives say the video was shared across social media platforms.
“These type of investigations, human trafficking and sex investigations are very sensitive and complex in nature.” said Broward Sheriff’s Office’s Public Information Officer, Miranda Grossman. “The investigative work takes a while due to the nature of the investigation, the well-being of the people involved.”
Ellsworth was arrested Monday in Okeechobee after a warrant was issued for her arrest December 2022 in Broward.
