West Palm Beach, FL– A 16-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a West Palm Beach man.
Luis Angel Resendiz Gama was taken into custody on April 20th for the shooting death of William Ronald Difonzo in the Meadowbrook Mobile Home Community.
A witness told police that he noticed a vehicle sitting in the parking lot around noon on March 31st and soon after heard gun fire coming from inside of the vehicle.
A young Hispanic male wearing shorts and white shoes was said to have exited the passenger side and ran to “an older green two-door pickup truck, which fled the parking lot northbound and east towards the exit of the community.”
Authorities were able to identify the vehicle after obtaining surveillance video from the scene.
The vehicle was registered to the suspect’s mother, who told authorities that her son was in school at the time of the shooting.
After speaking with the school board, authorities found that the suspect had not been at school that day.
Authorities received a search warrant for the suspect’s home and found black jean shorts with blood on them, several firearm parts, suspected cocaine, and several pairs of white sandals.
Gama was taken into custody and is facing murder charges.
He is being charged as an adult.
