WINTER HAVEN, FL– The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 15-year-old middle school student after he allegedly stabbed his classmate during an argument.
Aalijah Parker was taken into custody on Tuesday for the incident that occurred on the campus of Westwood Middle School.
Officials say Parker and the victim got into an argument which eventually escalated into a fight.
Parker then took out a fixed-blade kitchen knife and stabbed the other student.
Parker was said to have fled the scene but was found a short time later at a nearby relative’s house.
The teen then told authorities where they could find the knife and took them to the area.
Authorities called the behavior “Outrageous.”
“This is outrageous violent criminal behavior that we are not going to tolerate. This student is facing some serious felony charges,” Sheriff Grady Judd said. “I’m proud of the partnership we have with Polk County Public Schools and my deputies’ quick actions. Our prayers are with the victim and we are hoping for a fast recovery.”
Parker has been taken into custody and is facing a felony charge.
Officials are still investigating the case.
