Authorities in Farmington, Utah are reporting that a 32-year-old man who was videoed hanging from a sky lift at an amusement park has died after falling from the ride.

The incident occurred at the Saturday at the Lagoon Amusement Park.

Officials say they were called to the amusement park around 6:00 p.m. after the unidentified man fell 50 feet from the ride that ushers people from one side of the park to the other.

Authorities say at some point during the lift, the victim was seen holding onto the railing of the lift as it continued across the park.

It is unclear how the victim became positioned in that fashion, however, authorities reported that the ride did not malfunction.

One witness told authorities that they thought he was a gymnast or that he was practicing for something.

The victim was airlifted to the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City in critical condition. Authorities have since contacted reporters stating that the victim has died.
