14-year-old charged with setting fire at Walmart

PEACHTREE CITY, GA–
A 14-year-old girl is facing charges after authorities say she purposely set a Walmart on fire.
The incident occurred at the Walmart on 2717 West Hwy 54 on Aug. 24.
Officials say they were called to the store around 7:20 p.m. due to a structure fire.
Three officers went into the store to make sure everyone was evacuated and later needed to be treated for smoke inhalation injuries.
With the help of agencies for different counties, the fire was finally extinguished around 4 a.m.
No other injuries were reported from the fire.
An investigation found that the fire started in the paper goods section of the store and that it was intentionally set.
Through surveillance video and witness reports, authorities were eventually able to identify the person who started the fire.
Authorities located the teen at her home on Tuesday and reported that the teen confessed to setting the fire.
She has been arrested and charged with Arson in the 1st Degree.
