Car versus hydrant floods Federal Hwy in Boca Raton

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Drivers should avoid an area of Federal Highway in Boca Raton because of flooded streets after a vehicle hit a fire hydrant overnight, causing flooding at 2000 North Federal Highway.

Pictures at the scene just after 4 a.m. show a substantial amount of water flowing through the street with road closed signs posted.

Police said eastbound 20th Street is also closed to traffic.

One southbound lane was open just after 4:30 a.m.

The boil water order has been lifted for West Palm Beach after a ruptured watermain was fixed over the weekend.
