Officials in Georgia are reporting that they have arrested a 13-year-old boy for the murder of his mother.

According to the report, 37-year-old Dominique Bowers, a Navy vet,  was discovered dead in her home in Warner Robins  on Friday.

Authorities say her son, reportedly shot her and then called the police:

“Dominique Bowers, (37 yoa) of Warner Robins, is identified as the victim of homicide that occurred yesterday on Adirondac Way. Ms. Bowers is the mother of the 13-year-old juvenile that was taken in to custody,” the statement said. “The juvenile is charged with Murder and Aggravated Assault. A first appearance with the juvenile was held this morning at the Houston County Superior Court. The juvenile is being held in the Crisp County Youth Detention Center.”

Officials have not yet released a motive or the circumstances behind the shooting, however, a Youtuber commented that they believe the teen was unhappy with his mother’s upcoming marriage. The comment has not been confirmed by police.
