An 11-year-old boy and the driver of a Jeep were killed after they were struck by a vehicle while trying to get the Jeep out of the road.
The incident occurred on Saturday along the 800 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
Authorities say an Uber driver and his 11-year-old son noticed a white Jeep stalled in the middle of the roadway and pulled over to help the driver.
As the three worked to get the vehicle out of the road, the driver of a gray Ford vehicle crashed into group from behind.
The driver of the Jeep and the child were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The driver of the Ford was treated and released.
Officials say the driver of the Ford is cooperating with investigators.
