
An 11-year-old boy has died and eight other people where injured after a tractor trailer struck a sedan Tuesday.
The incident occurred on U.S. Route 27 near the Broward/ Palm Beach County line around 3:00 p.m.
Authorities say the tractor trailer appears to have rear-ended a black Nissan near mile marker 47 and caused the vehicle to flip.

Good Samaritans were the first to respond to the scene.
The Broward Sheriff’s department deployed their Air Rescue helicopter, while Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded with two Trauma Hawk helicopters.
According to the report, a total of five children were flown to area hospitals and one was taken by ground.
The 31 year-old driver, 31 year-old passenger, 8 year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl are in serious condition.
A 14 year-old girl, two 7-year-old boys and a 3-year-old boy sustained minor injuries.
All patients were said to have came from the same vehicle.
Ronald Walker Sr. told reporters that his wife Paula Harper, was in the vehicle with her four kids, her friend, and her three kids.
He also identified his 11-year-old son Ronald Walker, Jr. as the child who died in the crash.
