Officials in Prince William County, Virginia are investigating the death of a child who fell out of a vehicle and was then ran over.
The incident occurred on Sunday at 1:15 p.m.
According to the report, the 35-year-old mother put her 10-month-old daughter in the back of the vehicle unrestrained to drive a short distance.
When the pair got back to the residence, a family member opened the backseat of the vehicle and the child fell out and onto the roadway.
The mother immediately jumped out of the vehicle to check on the child but left the vehicle in drive.
