A man who previously won $10 million in a lottery has been sentenced to life in jail.
54-year-old Michael Todd Hill of Leland, North Carolina was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Friday for the murder of his 23-year-old girlfriend.
Authorities say Hill, who won $10 million in 2017, shot and killed Keonna Graham in a hotel room 2020.
Officials say Graham was reported missing in July and was eventually found dead in the hotel room with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Surveillance video showed that Hill was the only one besides Graham to enter the hotel room around the time of her death.
After being presented with the evidence, Hill admitted that he shot Graham because he found out that she had been texting other guys.
