Houston police are reporting that one police officer has died and another officer was injured while serving a warrant at a home on Monday.

The incident was reported around 7:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the city’s northeast side.

Officials say the two officers were attempting to arrest a 31-year-old suspect when he opened fire on them.

The suspect was not identified, but authorities say he was also killed in the shoot out.

The Harris County Sheriff’s office is investigating the shooting.
