Authorities in Fort Lauderdale are investigating a shooting that left one person dead.

The incident was reported on the 800 block of Seabreeze Boulevard just after midnight Thursday.

Witnesses say they heard several gun shots and witnessed someone running towards a car.

Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Casey Liening told reporters that responding officers found one victim dead near a pickup truck in the one of the main parking areas.

Authorities say they do not have a description of the shooter at this time.
