A teen from Lantana, Florida has been arrested after he reportedly shot another man multiple times during an argument over an AR-15.
The incident was reported last Friday just outside of an apartment complex near Kirk Rd.
The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department says the victim, 21-year-old Guyderson Dorcely, was in the process of trying to purchase an AR-15 when he got into an argument with the seller. A witness said the two began arguing because the gun was seized in a traffic stop near Lion Country Safari a few days earlier.
The seller wanted more money from Dorcely or for Dorcely to return the weapon.
As the men continued to argue about the weapon, 19-year-old Amos Alexander Shepard opened fire on Dorcely.
He has since been arrested and charged with second-degree murder with a firearm.
Records show that this is not Dorcely’s first run in with the law. Dorcely reportedly has over 17 traffic fractions and criminal traffic violations which all occurred in the past two years and in July 2020, he was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm, criminal mischief and two counts of threat against a public servant. Those charges, however, were eventually dropped.
