
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL–
One person is dead and five others have been injured after a police chase ended with a multi-vehicle crash.
Fort Lauderdale Police say that the incident began as a home burglary in the area of Mercedes Drive and Westlake Drive on Sunday.
Just before 5:00 a.m. Two teens reportedly broke into a home and stole the keys to the vehicles in the driveway.
Eventually, authorities located one of the vehicles described as a white Mercedes-Benz and pursued it.
The suspects led police on a vehicle chase until the suspects crashed into other vehicles at Oakland Park Boulevard and Powerline Road.
The suspects then ran from the scene but were later captured.
Six people were transported to Broward Health Medical Center where a woman was pronounced dead.
The suspects have been identified as Jacoby Bessent and Jacory Flournoy.
Bessent is being charged with grand theft auto, aggregated fleeing, and resisting arrest.
Flournoy has been charged with trespassing.
