The Broward County Sheriff’s office is reporting that a driver is dead after the construction vehicle he was driving somehow ended up in a canal.

Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Rescue officials responded to the scene along Loxahatchee Road and Solstice Circle just before 10:30 a.m.

The vehicle was said to have been completely submerged in the canal.

Broward Sheriff’s Office Dive Team members and Coral Springs Fire Rescue officials worked together in an effort to get to the driver, however, by 11:30 a.m. the mission was turned into a recovery mission.

The victim’s body was pulled from the canal just before 12:30 p.m.

Authorities have not released his identity.
