1 Dead 2 injured in Deerfield Beach shooting

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting that left one person dead and two others injured.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning near Northeast 40th Street and Sixth Avenue.

Authorities say they were called to a home around 2:00 am after neighbor’s heard back and forth gunfire coming from the home.

“We were just in the house and whatever, and like, we just heard a few gunshots,” one neighbor said. “We were like, ‘What’s going on?’ It seemed close so we just started ducking in the house. We didn’t know what was going on.”

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found one man suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Two other people were also said to have suffered gunshot wounds but were able to drive themselves to the hospital.
