
(RIVIERA BEACH, Florida)– A Palm Beach County motorcyclist is dead after being struck by a car Friday night.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a Nissan Altima struck 40-year-old Nicholas Baccari after running a red light at the intersection of Avenue S and Blue Heron Blvd.
After the impact, Baccari’s motorcycle was flung into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan fled the scene before police or emergency medical services arrived.
Baccari and the driver of the vehicle hit by the motorcycle were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Baccari passed away soon after arrival, and the driver of the other vehicle is being treated for serious injuries.
Police are still looking for the driver who caused the crash, and ask the public to be on the lookout for a Nissan Altima with a California plate, tag number 8RAB274.
