Officials in Washington are currently searching for a gunman who fatally shot one person and injured another in a grocery store.

The incident was reported on Monday around 11:00 a.m. at a Fred Meyer store in Richland, Washington.

The suspect who is believed to be armed with a handgun, fled the area after the shooting.

FBI Seattle spokesperson Steve Bernd told CNN that they are assisting both the Richland police force and the Washington police force in identifying the suspect.
