At least 15 young girls were treated for minor injuries after they were forced to climb or jump from a second story dance studio as it went up in flames.
The incident occurred Monday afternoon in Edgewater, New Jersey which is just north of New York City.
Video from the scene shot by Ilker Kesiktas, showed several young girls screaming witnesses and rescuers attempted to use ladders to rescue them. Some of the girls, however, were forced to jump into the arms of a rescuer or jump to the concrete were they were then carried away from the flames.
The dance studio is in a building that houses several other businesses including an auto body shop and a hookah lounge. It was not said how the fire was started or where it originated from. Police are still investigating the incident.
