Tiger Woods has publicly apologized for his DUI arrest over the holiday weekend. In the apology, the golfer also stated that alcohol was not a factor in his inability to drive, however, that he mixed medications and did not realize how strongly it affected him.

“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.” He apologized to his family, friends and fans and vowed he would do everything he can to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Authorities pulled over Woods just miles from his Jupiter home around 3 a.m. Sunday, as he drove southbound on Military Trail near Indian Creek Parkway.

The 41-year-old was once one of the world’s greatest golfers, however, as of recently he has been unable to compete due to severe back pain and multiple back surgeries. In 2016 he did not compete in any golf tournaments and in 2017, he has only competed in one.
