KEN PAULI
|
Ken Pauli’s first paid radio job happened because of the gas crunch of 1978. While most other people had to drive to New Jersey from Staten Island, he got hired because he lived close enough to the radio station that he could ride his bike.
Ken grew up in New Jersey and worked mainly in the New Jersey/New York/Philadelphia area until 1989, when he decided to move south to Atlanta. He worked at several radio stations in Atlanta in news, music and programming and eventually ended up working for Ted Turner and CNN Radio for 10 years. Although he often anchored newscasts, his love was in a little one-minute program called Celebritywatch that aired on several hundred radio stations.
At CNN Radio, Ken’s main function was servicing the 1,200 affiliate radio stations that used CNN material. One of those stations was WFTL. And when the News Director’s job opened up, Ken jumped a the chance to move to Fort Lauderdale, a place he visited as often as possible.
Now Ken is the Director of News & Operations, overseeing the day-to-day workings of the group that owns WFTL. You can also hear him doing news weekday afternons on WFTL. |
