One Police Officer Killed and Two Injured after Responding to 911 call

Tuesday, Clinton Police Officer Christopher Ryan Morton,30, was shot and killed when he and two other officers responded to a 911 call at a Missouri home.

Wednesday Sgt. Bill Lowe said that women are heard screaming in the background of the 911 call the three officers responded to.

The suspected shooter who was identified as 37-year-old James E. Waters.

The suspect opened fire from inside the home while the officers attempted to apprehend him.

As a result, Morton was fatally shot and killed while the other two unidentified officers were wounded and taken to the hospital.

Wednesday, a SWAT team entered to home only to find waters dead.

Morton is the 20th officer to die in the line of duty since the start of 2018.

He is reportedly the second Clinton police officer to die in the line of duty in the last seven months.
