Nominations For 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards: No “Game of Thrones”

The nominations for the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out this morning and one show was noticeably absent. “Game of Thrones” won the Emmy for Best Drama Series the past two years but was not nominated for anything this year because of a late start date. “Better Call Saul,” “The Crown,” “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Stranger Things,” “This Is Us” and “Westworld” now have a chance at taking over the throne. Most Hollywood aficionados say “This Is Us” has the best chance at winning.

The awards show will be held in September at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Stephen Colbert will host the ceremony, which will be broadcast by CBS.
