New Yorkers First Reaction to Car Crash Was Terrorism

New York’s mayor says there is no sign it was terrorism. Law enforcement officials say the 26-year-old man accused of steering his car onto a sidewalk in Times Square and mowing down pedestrians told police he was “hearing voices.” A Michigan teenager was killed and 22 others were struck before the car was stopped by a row of steel security barriers. That didn’t stop New Yorkers from assuming it was terrorism prior to Deblasio’s statement.
