On Wednesday, The Boy Scouts of America announced that girls can join too.
It all starts next year!
Our news partner CBS 12, talked to 6th grader Angela Frankland who shared that she has wanted to join- the century old boys club.
“I want to join the scouts because I like to go camping and do fun activities and get badges,” said 11-year-old Angela Frankland.
Starting next fall, girls can join the Cub Scouts in all female Dens ages 6 to 11. Then in 2019, girls can join the Boy Scouts in coed groups ages 11 to 17, where girls can work to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
“Girls can do anything boys can do, but we just do it better,” said Angela.
